Residents may request an extension of their stay, up to 90 days.
The criteria for extensions begin low and increase with cumulative stay.
The primary requirement for your first extension is that you are a good fit with our community and not disruptive.
The primary requirement for your second extension is that you have been productively engaged here, with a secondary consideration that it is a significant improvement vs the likely counterfactual.
The primary requirement for your third extension is that you are planning your next steps, or already executing on such a plan. For many grantees, this will look like applying for jobs, grants, fellowships, etc.
Exceptions to the policy are possible, subject to discussion by managers, trustees, and advisors.
Through successive extensions, grantees may stay at CEEALAR up to 1 year, although this is a soft cap rather than an absolute limit.

CEEALAR acts as an incubator, where grantees can develop their skills and cultivate their project(s) before launching them into the world.
As comfy a nest as it may be, grantees would do better to think of CEEALAR as a stepping stone towards greater things.
Previous grantees must spend as much time outside the program as they spent inside before reapplying.
Example: If you were a grantee for 1 year, you must wait 1 year before reapplying.
